Tomorrow. It's only a day away.

Post 2.

Japan is one day away. Yes I did say one! Who thought this day would ever come?! It still feels like it's months away despite the endless hours of packing and repacking. Honestly, it probably won't hit me until the last day of the trip! I think I've got everything I'll need for 11 weeks packed in less than 62 sq. in. Phew!

Do you see Spot the Paper Crane?
Unfortunately, it's basically still a midwestern summer over in Japan, complete with sticky, icky humidity! Because I'll be at the same latitude as back home, the weather will be very familiar, which did make it easier to pack.

----------------- A few logistical notes about my blog. -----------------
This is my first ever attempt at serious blogging, so I'm a newbie. Go easy on me if I'm a little late on posting!. Anyhow...suggestions from you on content, more or less pictures/text, etc is GREATLY appreciated. Readers like you are why I'm typing this blog and I want to make sure you are learning and experiencing as much as I am on this trip. Just leave your ideas in the comments below. (Although by the end of this trip I'm sure this blog will become a great resource for me to rekindle memories of my experiences and flame the fire of nostalgia..ahhhh)

Also, I will be sure to post a link on Facebook each time I upload a new post to the Paper Crane adventure. For those of you readers who are not on Facebook, let me know who you are and I'll try to get a email group together and send out a notification that way if you want. As far as I know there isn't a super simple way to be notified of new posts....bummer!

And the moment you've been waiting for. I present to you my new travel companion crafted out of red origami paper...Spot!
Be on the look out in my next post for him hiding in the bustling city of Kyoto, Japan!
